Pacific Northwest Legacy Property
Set on a forested estate in Edmonds, WA, this property presented the kind of canvas outdoor lighting designers dream of—towering trees with presence, layered gardens, hand-hewn stonework, and a backyard with meandering paths and timeless charm. With 72 fixtures and a deliberate mix of 2700K and 3000K color temperatures, our goal was to design a nightscape that feels like a natural extension of the home’s architectural and horticultural beauty.
Rather than flood the property with light, we chose a layered approach:

2700K fixtures were used in cozy, sheltered areas to foster warmth and comfort.

3000K fixtures defined larger architectural and structural elements such as the home’s facade and birch grove.
This blend allowed us to shape the property’s experience—soft and welcoming where people gather, bold and dramatic where nature stands tall.
The Edmonds Residence now stands as a glowing example of Northwest outdoor living—where craftsmanship, plant life, and lighting design converge. With 72 fixtures working in harmony, the estate is no longer a place that fades at dusk, but a home that lives on in light.

Lighting That Honors the Giants
These towering cedar trees flank the main entry and were designed to be focal points from the moment you turn down the driveway. Deep-set uplights cast a sculptural glow on the massive trunks, emphasizing their age and character while drawing the eye toward the home. It's a dramatic, grounding moment that anchors the entire front lighting design.
Guiding Light Through Ferns and Stone
Winding stone paths carve their way through native plantings and low ferns. Mushroom path lights were placed for subtlety—just enough to guide your steps while preserving the woodland atmosphere. The result is an immersive stroll through greenery, where light and shadow work together to create quiet magic.
Hardscape That Shines After Dark
The backyard features beautiful hand-built stone walls and stairs that deserved to be highlighted, not hidden. We used a mix of wall washes and low-angle lights to ensure these transitions were both safe and stunning. The lighting accentuates the craftsmanship while enhancing nighttime usability for family and guests.
