A Coastal Retreat Illuminated in Sunset Light
Tucked away on a bluff overlooking Puget Sound, this Gig Harbor property blends natural beauty with coastal sophistication. The homeowners wanted to create a sense of security for their long, sloped driveway, as well as highlight their mature trees, ornamental plantings, and the striking architectural lines of their home.
Our team designed a low-voltage LED lighting system using 63 Sunset-toned fixtures, casting a warm, inviting glow that enhances nighttime curb appeal while preserving the peaceful ambiance of this waterfront neighborhood.

Before & After: Front Entry + Driveway
The transformation is especially dramatic at the entry. Where the driveway once disappeared into darkness, a guiding path of light now welcomes guests and ensures safe footing. Trees and shrubs that faded into the background now create striking silhouettes under the warm uplighting. The home’s character is enhanced—not just seen, but felt—even from the road.
Illuminated Driveway Approach
A key concern was nighttime navigation. We installed evenly spaced well lights along the rock retaining wall and soft uplighting near the entry path. This not only increases visibility for cars and guests but adds rhythm and elegance to the long approach.
Tree-Centric Design
We used warm uplighting to accent the branching structure of mature maples, pines, and ornamental trees. This draws the eye upward, enhancing depth and texture against the dusky waterfront backdrop while preserving the natural feel of the wooded lot.
Privacy and Perimeter Glow
Rather than floodlighting the home, we let the landscape lead. Carefully placed fixtures wash the home’s façade and garden beds in soft amber light, defining the property’s perimeter while protecting views and serenity.
