Where Warmth Meets Function in a Secluded Backyard Retreat
Tucked behind a traditional brick and lap-sided home in Kenmore, Washington, this cozy backyard renovation blends privacy, practicality, and elegance. With a total of 32 lights in our warm 2700K "sunset" tone, we illuminated this multi-use space with intention. Whether the homeowners are grilling beneath the covered kitchen, hosting guests at the granite-topped bar, or simply relaxing under the stars, their evenings are now enhanced by a lighting design that’s both beautiful and functional.
This project was all about layers—soft path lighting, integrated sconces, pendant globes, and softly lit evergreens that transform the space into a serene outdoor experience.
The transformation of this Kenmore backyard is night and day—literally. Before lighting, the backyard's charm and functionality disappeared after dark. Now, layered lighting brings the kitchen, trees, and pathways to life. The “after” view showcases how architectural and landscape features were elevated through thoughtful lighting.

Gated Welcome + Soft Path Glow
As you enter through the side gate, subtle fixtures guide the way with a warm, inviting glow. These lights not only improve safety but also set the mood as guests transition from the driveway into the private outdoor living area.
Outdoor Kitchen Ambience
The covered kitchen and bar are framed by string-like our Firefly globe pendants and recessed fixtures. Granite surfaces reflect the golden tones, while downlights add depth and focus to cooking and dining zones.
Backyard Canopy of Trees
Around the perimeter, a mix of evergreen and deciduous trees is gently lit to create contrast, depth, and a natural backdrop. These lights add privacy and turn the landscaping into a focal point once the sun sets.
