Lake of the Woods Villa, Woodinville, WA
Nestled deep within the evergreens of Woodinville, this Lake of the Woods estate blends grandeur with quiet intimacy—especially after dark. Northwest Outdoor Lighting was brought in to transform the property into a warm, inviting sanctuary using a total of 147 custom-selected fixtures in 3000K—a color temperature that provides a soft, welcoming white glow.
Our team worked closely with the homeowners to design a low-voltage lighting system that highlights the estate’s natural beauty, timeless architecture, and curated garden paths. From classic column uplighting to handcrafted fixture placements along stone terraces and garden walls, every element was chosen with care and installed with precision.

Before & After: A Grand Entrance Transformed

There's something truly satisfying about seeing a well-loved home step into its full potential.
In the “before” image, the driveway and front facade of this Lake of the Woods estate faded into the dusk—beautiful in daylight, but unremarkable once the sun went down. Our goal was to change that entirely. With carefully placed path lights, subtle uplighting on the architecture, and just the right amount of warmth in the color temperature, the entire approach to the home now radiates elegance and welcome.
The transformation isn’t just visual—it’s emotional. Guests feel it the moment they arrive, and the homeowners now enjoy an exterior that reflects the beauty within.

Architectural Glow on the Rear Facade
This wide view of the back of the estate showcases the warm architectural lighting that makes the home feel welcoming even in the quietest hours. Soft washes of light illuminate columns, stonework, and garden beds—enhancing the home's shape without overpowering it.

Side Fountain Pathway Illumination
This side path, bordered by boxwoods and defined by a checkerboard of grass and pavers, is gently illuminated using downcast path lights and a central uplight for the fountain. This design balances visibility and shadow for a timeless, European-inspired ambiance.

Terrace and Garden Wall Accents
Sculptural urns, flowering hydrangeas, and stacked-stone steps are brought to life with subtle uplighting, giving this terrace an enchanting glow. Guests are invited to linger, relax, and enjoy the depth and dimension created by the lighting layers.
