Sunset Tone Lighting Transformation

Nestled high above Puget Sound in the sought-after Wind & Tide community of Edmonds, WA, this hillside estate features a main residence and a charming guest house tucked into a grove of towering cedar trees. With dramatic elevation changes, expansive views, and lush natural landscaping, the property called for a lighting design that would enhance nighttime beauty while providing safe access across sloped terrain.

To bring the entire landscape to life after sunset, our team installed 47 custom-placed low-voltage fixtures in our signature Sunset Tone—a warm, amber-infused color that blends beautifully with Pacific Northwest evergreens and natural wood architecture. The result is a welcoming and luxurious nighttime environment that highlights the home’s unique features without overpowering the natural surroundings.

Our vision for this project was to highlight the landscape as the hero, celebrating the beauty of coastal evergreens and natural vegetation while improving safety and functionality. The combination of Sunset Tone warmth, low-glare fixture placement, and careful balancing of brightness levels allows the property to glow without washing out the landscape or competing with the skyline.

The homeowners now enjoy year-round outdoor living, welcoming lighting for guests, and a breathtaking illuminated forest that can be admired from both inside the home and throughout the property grounds after sunset.

The detached guest house sits elevated among an impressive stand of cedar trees that tower over the hillside. Uplighting at the base of each tree draws the eye vertically to emphasize scale and texture, creating a dramatic woodland backdrop that feels peaceful and immersive at night.
