A seasonal journal reflecting on how light shapes the way we live — indoors and out.

When the Rain Comes - December 2025

The rain arrives differently each year, but this one has come with weight.
Rivers have risen, roads have given way, and for many families, home has been interrupted or lost. At the same time, it is December — college kids returning, guests arriving, lights coming on earlier than planned.

When the rain comes, home becomes more than shelter. It becomes gathering, warmth, and a kind of holding. Windows glow longer. Rooms draw closer. Quiet settles in around shared meals and familiar voices.

We design lighting for these moments — not to brighten the storm, but to soften what surrounds it. To create steadiness when the world feels uncertain. To make space for togetherness, reflection, and rest.

This is one of the ways a home carries us through.
